Coachella Valley with San Jacinto Peak
Keys Key (elevation 5185 feet) is an overlook in the Little San Bernardino Mountains. This view is looking southwest toward Mt. San Jacinto across the Coachella Valley. The dark linear ridge in the center of the valley is a shutter ridge along the San Andreas Fault. San Jacinto Peak (elevation 10,804) is adjacent to the town of Palm Springs (elevation 150 feet). The elevation differences between valley and the mountain peak is one of the greatest ranges of vertical relief on a mountain front in North America.
