| C. O. Barker and his fellow cattlemen constructed Barker Reservoir as a stock pond in the 1880s. The Keys family who maintained a ranch settlement nearby enlarged the dam in the 1950s. It now preserved as a historic structure in the national park (Hickman, 1977). |
