Chaco Culture National Historic Park
This view shows the straight wall along the west side of Pueblo del Arroyo (Spanish for "village by the wash"). The pueblo was constructed in two short stages from about A.D. 1025 to A.D. 1125 (NPS,1998d) . Pueblo del Arroyo is similar to other Chacoan great houses except it lacks a "great kiva" and earthen mounds found in other sites. Chaco Wash flows only a short distance to the right of this image.
