Pueblo del Arroyo. Archeologists find some parallels between the Chacoan architecture and the architecture of ancestral northern Mexican and Meso-American architecture. Archeological artifacts excavated from the puebloan ruins at Chaco include sea shells, macaw and parrot feathers and remains, copper bells, conch shell trumpets, turquoise and other materials that were supplied through trade with sources in Mexico and throught the Southwestern region (Stuart, 2000; Lekson and others, 2005; NPS, 2005c, 2005d). |
