This view from the South Cove Picnic Area on the shore of Lake Mead is looking northeast toward Wheeler Ridge on the Arizona side of Lake Mead. The ridge consist of dipping strata of Paleozoic-age. These rocks are part of the same lower Grand Canyon Sequence exposed in the Grand Wash Cliffs several miles to the east of this location (Faulds and others, 2008; Beard and others, 2007). |
