Painted Canyon in the Mecca Hillls
Painted Canyon is notable for its scenic badlands consisting of steeply dipping and folded Late Tertiary and Quaternary non-marine sedimentary rock formations (Sylvester and Smith, 1987). The rock formations constantly change colors throughout the day with passing clouds and shadows.
