View looking downstream at the high walls of Glen Canyon. Below the dam to Lees Ferry, the canyon consists entirely of massive Navajo Sandstone Jurassic Navajo Sandstone. This thick section of sandstone is part of the Glen Canyon Group which includes both the Navajo Sandstone and the Page Sandstone at the top of the canyon.
