Unit Name History:
Named for exposures in La Plata Co, CO (Hayden, 1877). Areal limits (Barnes and others, 1954; Beaumont and others, 1956; Molenaar, Baird, 1989). Mapped 1:50k in San Juan Co, NM (Scott and others, 1984).
