Unit Name History: Named (Gregory and Moore, 1931). Revised, underlies newly named Cedar Breaks Formation (Schneider, 1967). Age modified; Revised, underlies newly named Canaan Peak Formation (Bowers, 1972). Biostratigraphic dating (vertebrates and palynomorphs) (Eaton, 1991). Areal limits, tentatively identified in Markagunt Plateau, Kane Co, UT; Biostratigraphic dating (palynomorphs) (Nichols, 1997).
