Unit Name History:
Named as a formation (of 4) of the San Rafael Group (Gilluly and Reeside, 1928). Revised, extended to Kaiparowits region (Gregory and Moore, 1931). Mapped 1:24k as lower member of Stump Formation in southwest Moffat Co, CO (Rowley and Hansen, 1979). Revised, reduced to member of Stump Formation locally; Extended to parts of ID, WY, CO, UT (Pipiringos and Imlay, 1979). Overview (Peterson, 1988).
