| This view is looking south across the high wall ruins along the eastern face of Pueblo Bonito. The chaotic arrangement of stone in the foreground are part of a massive breakdown from the cliff (to the rear of this photo). A great rock pinnacle named Threating Rock was precariously located on the cliff near Pueblo Bonito. In January, 1941, a rock fall crushed about 65 rooms at Pueblo Bonito (Vivian and Anderson, 2002). The rockfall destroyed ruins that had been excavated by an archeologist, Neil Judd, in the 1920s (NPS, 2004b, 2010).
