Chetro Ketl has many kivas and multi-story square-room dwellings that may have also been used as storage. The great great house covers several acres and some of the buildings. Like other great house, Chetro Ketl may have only been used periodically when commerce, trading, and ceremonies drew people to the Chaco Canyon area from surrounding areas (see NPS, 1998b).
