Toquerville is along Interstate 15 at the exit to Highway 17 that leads east to Highway 9 (the main highway through Zion National Park). This region is heavily developed today, mostly with residential housing communities. The twin peaks are remnants of volcanoes that erupted in late Tertiary time along the Hurricane Fault system that runs north-to-south along the west-facing escarpment that forms the elevated canyon country at Zion National Park.
