Red River Gorge
Water flowing in an underground stream carved the passage of AC cave. The cavern is about 500 feet long. The mouth of the cavern is along the banks of the Red River. The passage grows narrower and taller upstream. Marine invertebrate fossils of Mississippian age and chert nodules crop out along the limestone tight passage that emerges in a sink hole higher on the hillside.
