View of the path among the ancient earthworks along a trail in Shawnee Lookout Park. Smoke stack from a power plant are in the distance.

This view show a gap in the earthworks along the hilltops earthen border walls. Similar gaps are found in the border walls at Fort Ancient. These gaps suggest are part of the argument that the so-called "fort" structure was actually not fortifications, but rather served as ceremonial centers for peoples living in small communities in the vicinity or nearby.

This view also show the high smoke stacks of the Miami Fort Power Station -- one of the major power plants along the Ohio River.
