This view is looking up the road through Golden Gate Canyon at a narrow passage known as Golden Gate Entrance. This feature is located several miles east of Mammoth Hot Springs. The rocks exposed in the cliffs are the massive Huckleberry Ridge Tuff (of early Quaternary age, about 2.1 million years (USGS, 2008).
