View of the "Box Canyon" at Lomaki Ruins in Wupatki National Park. This canyon is a rift-style fissure associated with tectonic activity in the San Francisco Volcanic Fields. The dark soil at the base of the limestone cliffs is volcanic cinders and ash from the Sunset Crater eruption that were washed into, or blown into, the fissure.
