| Hansons Ridge is one of many "fin-like" ridges of Corbin Sandstone in the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Potholes in the sandstone hold water after rain, often for weeks after a storm, providing water and a habitat to live for many creatures that live in the upland ridge country. |
