Red River Gorge
Red River Gorge Geological Area is located in Eastern Kentucky in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The landscape is part of the erosional dissected plateau cut into flat-lying to very gently dipping sedimentary rocks of Mississippian and Pennsylvanian age (Dever and Barron, 1986; Ettensohn and others, 2010). This view is of the trail leading to Sky Bridge, a large natural sandstone arch.
