Red River Gorge Geological Area is located in Eastern Kentucky in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The landscape is part of the erosional dissected plateau cut into flat-lying to very gently dipping sedimentary rocks of Mississippian and Pennsylvanian age (Dever and Barron, 1986; Ettensohn and others, 2010). This view is of the trail leading to Sky Bridge, a large natural sandstone arch. |
