Great Fall Park map Great Falls Park is one of the oldest park locations in the country. It currently encompasses a very scenic seven mile stretch along the Potomac River in the vicinity of the Great Falls (falls and rapids) and Mather Gorge. The park is located on the Virginia side of the river. The Chesapeak and Ohio Canal National Historic Park is located on the Virginia side of the river.
