| This view is looking north along a gravel bar by Bright Angel Creek at Phantom Ranch. The footbridge on the right is near the intersection of the Bright Angel Trail and the North and South Kaibab Trails. The cliffs in this area provide good exposures of pink granitic rocks (gneiss and granite) and dark biotite schist of the Vishnu Basement Rocks well exposed in cliffs where they reveal their ancient, complex metamorphic and tectonic structures. |
