| This view is looking down from the Tipoff along the South Kaibab Trail at the confluence of Bight Angel Creek with the Colorado River at Phantom Ranch. To the left, the footbridge over the Colorado River is for the Bright Angel Trail. Bright Angel Creek drains from the North Rim. Debris flows associated with episodic storms and flash flood dump large quantities of sediment into the Colorado River and contribute to the buildup of river mouth bars and gravel bars along the river banks. |
