This view is from the base of Dry Falls. The undulating surface at the top of the cliff reflects separate channels where water cascaded into the valley below. Dry Falls Lake is the remnant of a plunge pool at the base of the falls. The rocks in the foreground are basalt bedrock that survived the scour of floodwaters of the Spokane Flood (Baker, 1987; Carson and Pogue, 1996). |
