Golden Spike National Historic Site
This cave along the Union Pacific Grade (along the Big Fill Walk) was used to store supplies and temporary shelter during construction of the railroad grade. The cave originally formed from wave erosion along the shore of Lake Bonneville. Caves like this throughout the Great Basin region have yielded artifacts of prehistoric peoples who utilized the natural resources along the ancient lakeshores.
