| This view is looking east from the top of El Calderon Cinder Cone on the west side of El Malpais National Monument. The sandstone cliffs of Cebollita Mesa are in the distance. The broad valley of El Malpais gently slopes northward away from the primary volcanic vent areas in the southern part of the park area. |
