Dinosaur National Monument
Dinosaur National Monument was first established around a dinosaur bone quarry in 1915 and was later expanded in 1938 to encompass the spectacular canyons, mountains, and plateaus in a great wilderness region along the Green and Yampa Rivers of northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado. This view is from the Canyon Overlook along the Harpers Corner Self-guiding Scenic Drive. The valley of the Yampa River is in the distance. The 25 mile-long scenic drive connects to US Highway 40 near the town of Dinosaur, Colorado and provides access to the central wilderness region of the park.
