| This view is looking west from the top of the star dune near Stovepipe Wells. Stovepipe Wells has limited services: a motel, bar, pool, gas station, store, campground, and ranger station. The alluvial fan of Emigrant Wash is in the distance. The Cottonwood Mountains are on the distant right. The Cottonwood Mountains are part of the Panamint Range that runs north-to-south along the western side of Death Valley. |
