Mosaic Canyon
This close-up view of the western wall of the canyon shows angular chunks of Noonday Dolomite imbedded in a sandy matrix. This rock, called a breccia (because the chunks are angular in shape) probably formed when a debris flow deposited these materials in the lower canyon during a time when sediments were back filling the canyon.
