Big Bend National Park
Park visitors rest under a tamarisk or salt cedar (Tamarix sp.) near a sand dune and small cave in Boquillas Canyon. Tamarisk is an invasive plant that has spread throughout river systems of the Desert Southwest (Muzika and Swearingen, 2009).
