Big Bend National Park
Blooming yucca and creosote bush dominate the surface of an alluvial fan along the River Road in Big Bend National Park. Late afternoon shadows highlight the steep relief of the Elephant Tusk, the prominent eroded remnant of a Tertiary-age igneous stock on the right side of the image (Maxwell, 1968).
