Badlands National Park
View of the Sage Creek Wilderness from the Sage Rim Road.  Gray mounding hillocks of the Chadron Formation crop out along the flanks of the Sage Creek Anticline. In this area, Sage Creek generally flows westward along the crest of the anticline. The colored buttes of Fox Hills Formation generally mark the crest of the anticline.
