A cutbank along Coyote Creek is located near the Flying Tigers model airplane park in Morgan Hill. Erosion of the cutbank provides gravel for the stream bed. Exposures in the cutbank reveal that in the past the entire floodplain of Coyote Creek was an alluvial fan. Before the construction of the massive Anderson Sam upstream from the valley along Highway 101 near Morgan Hill was prone to episodic floods and debris flows.
