Chitactac-Adam Park is know for its abundant prehistoric
rock art (spirals) and mortar grinding holes carved in outcrops of Temblor
Sandstone (Miocene age.) Outcrops like this occur throughout this four acre
park along Uvas Creek.

This large outcrop of Temblor Sandstone rises above
Uvas Creek (which was in low flood at the time the picture was taken). The
stream flows typically clear year-round. |
