Pipe Spring National Monument
Pipe Spring National Monument, located on the Arizona Strip (north of the Grand Canyon) has a long cultural history ranging back 10,000 years. Part of the reason for this long history is related to springs that occur here along an escarpment (in distance) associated with the Sevier Fault, a major north-south trending normal fault that extends from the Grand Canyon region northward into central Utah (NPS, 2009). This unusual sandstone block is located near the park's visitor center.
