Guadalupe Mountains National Park
Thinly layered sandy limestone beds of of the Bell Canyon Formation are exposed along McKittrick Creek. The layers represent materials that were eroded from the reef and carried down slope into a deep water setting on the open-sea side of the great reef (Bebout and Kerans, 1993).
