Devils Cornfield
The Devil's Cornfield is located along Highway 190 between Stovepipe Wells and Beatty Junction (just east of the sand dunes). The plant that gives the area its unique appearance is an evergreen plant, arrowweed (Pluchea sericea) (USDA, [2010]). As the common name implies, the plant's woody stocks were used by American Indians to make arrows.
