The Dalles Dam is one of several major dams across the Columbia River. The dam was constructed in 1960 and expansion in 1973. It is located 192 miles upstream from the mouth of the Columbia River. Lake Celilo is the name of the reservoir that extends for 24 miles above the dam (US Army Corps of Engineers, [2010]).
