Capitol Reef National Park
This view was taken from along the unpaved Notom-Bullfrog Road. It shows the steeply dipping strata of the Dakota Sandstone in the foreground, and the white massive hogbacks of Navajo Sandstone (and a trace of the underlying red Wingate Sandstone) in the distance. Other formations of Jurassic age crop out along the strike valley between these two ridges (not visible here, see Morris and others, 2000).
