Canyonlands National Park
Tamarisk gives a green highlight to the bars along the Green River. The White Rim Sandstone overlies older Pennsylvanian and Permian-age formations of the Cutler Group (of Baars, 2000 usage) including the slope forming Organ Rock Formation (mostly shale and siltstone) and the underlying Cedar Mesa Sandstone (which forms the ledge along the Green River), and Elephant Canyon Formation (at river level).
